Certificate of Structural Adequacy - Subsidence Claim

We have just discovered that the house we are buying has had a subsidence claim in the past 2 years and that we are able to transfer the Certificate of Structural Adequacy into our names.
There has been approximately 7K of work done, no underpinning, mostly crack repairs. Subsidence was due to clay shrinkage and offending vegetation has now been removed.
Would we be absolute idiots to carry on with this purchase? Surely resale would be affected. Subsidence always has to be declared for buildings insurance doesn't it, however long ago it happened?

That sounds pretty routine and non-problematic: known cause and remedy. You should factor in your view of any value reduction into the price you're willing to pay and perhaps discuss this with your potential insurer to reassure yourself about how it will be handled. If you get a structural survey that should also help your peace of mind.0
