i use the 15p sage and onion mix for quite a few things.

sausage plait: dry stuffing mix combined you sauage meat rolled in puff pastry

burgers : cooked red lentil and stuffing mix or kidney beans and stuffing

use it in sandwiches, veggie meatloaf, rolled in to balls with roasts, toad in the holes.

Never thought to use it in casseroles, thank you :)

Several years ago whilst on a rather tight budget I made a bacon, onion and stuffing bake that turned out much better than expected - especially with gravy.
From what I remember I cooked the bacon and softened the onions slightly (to take the raw edge off). Mixed together and dolloped the stuffing (mixed with water and a bit of butter) over the top. Baked until crispy and it was really quite tasty.
I'm trying to avoid wheat so stuffing is not on the menu right now.

  • I roll the sausage meat in the dry stuffing mix before putting it on the pastry when I make sausage rolls. It adds flavour and absorbs some of the fat during cooking, keeping the meat moist and not dried out.
