Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting a cheap tablet off ebay to use instead of an in car DVD player.
My thinking is that it will do so much more & won't be a problem to store a few films on there.
does anyone know a way to get two android tablets to mirror each other? eg play a movie on one & it displays on both?
Thanks

Why bother,
If you are getting two tablets anyway, then let each viewer choose what to watch and wear headphones.
When my kids were younger more time was spent arguing about what to watch than was spent watching.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

on a plane they'll wear headphones, but I don't want that in the car.
they're happy to watch the same film & it's nice as they then talk about it. they get to take it in turns so don't argue about that (plenty of other stuff they do!)0 -
You may wish to look at this : http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/37180/how-can-make-two-android-devices-show-the-same-video-simultaneously
The solution was using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.codejugglers.android.vlchd&hl=en
or http://apcmag.com/how-to-stream-video-to-an-android-device.htm0 -
Thanks, the poster there doesn't confirm whether those solutions were suitable. I'm concerned about ordering these & finding it's not possible!0

Ive just tried using this between 2 tablets and i could not do it. I will try again this afternoon and come back with any results.0

To be honest, we've got a dual DVD player system and they still prefer to watch their own stuff, listening using headphones.
Using two tablets is rather convoluted.0 -
Tried again failed again, but i dont think it would work in the car anyway as its using your home router. My kids wont watch the same thing in my car so 1 uses a dvd player that takes a 16gb memory stick the other uses my 10" tablet both with headphones on or it drives you mad if you can hear a childs film about 2" from your ear on the headrest when your driving.0

I'm thinking this might do the trickL
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.springdesign.screenshare.browser.client&hl=en_GB
In the video, he mirrors an android phone to a tablet, so I think I could do the same from tablet to tablet!?0 -
Seems that it only works when connected to internet - would not work with movies
See first comment on the page.........
Should be named "Content Share" it does NOT share "screens" I installed this to see the same image on my tablet that my phone is seeing (Google Maps Navigation). It does NOT do that. What this app does is sync the FILES on your phone with your tablet, so you can access the FILES. Very misleading app name!0 -
The only way to do what you want would be a tablet with HDMI output and a small monitor with HDMI input - but these are quite expensive.0
