The sky £75 one off payment offer

I recently bought the £75 one off payment offer from sky which included the digibox, mini dish and free installation, also included was 2 of their entertainment and music mixes free for 6 months.
I paid my £75 by credit card, and was asked if I would give my other bank details of which I declined.
After installation I was sent a letter asking to give my bank account details within 5 days, next day without warning sky put a block on all their channels
I phoned their 0870 number and after being put in a queue for a while, I was eventually put through to a rather rude call attendant who informed me that I must give my bank details and that I had absolutely nothing to worry about, as no money would be taken from my account until the end of my 6 months trial (ending in December)
I give my bank account details and the sky channels were put back on.
Today I received a letter informing me that sky will be taking a payment of £22.50 from my account on the 21st of july, followed by £15 each month after that.
After phoning customer support, and being left on hold for a while, the advisor was rather puzzled and really didn’t know what to do, she eventually had to get further advice and I have been told to cancel my direct debit until they can get it sorted out.
I have lost all confidence in Sky and feel that I cant trust anything they do or say.

Sue them, they stole money from your account, contact the police as stealing money from someones account is illegal. I would serach the sky website for a contact email address or a postal address and sent a letter off saying that if the money is not refunding into your account plus damages plus cost that you will contact the police and also seek legal advice.0

I hav,nt had any money taken from my account (it was,nt to be taken until the 21 july.
i have done what they said when i phoned them, and i have cancelled the direct debit.
hopefully they will now get the problem sorted.
I hav,nt any faith left in this organisation and i can only hope they can assure me that no money will be taken from my account unless i say so.
i probably wont have any more dealings with them when my 6 months trial finishs in december.

I bet you anything you get cut off again after the 21st and when you ring up they tell you it's because you cancelled your direct debit and didn't pay.
They're useless, and one department hasn't a clue what the other is doing. When you say someone told you to cancel the DD, there'll be no record of it at their end. I took this offer up a couple of weeks since and it was installed last weekend. The only details they took were the credit card details and they didnt require any bank details from me. The total cost for us was the £75 and £25 because we were having it installed to a static caravan that doesnt have a phone line. We got the knowledge and music mixes added. After teh 6 months are up it just goes to freesat - ie, you dont have to pay anything after six months if you dont want to continue with the mixesWeight Loss - 102lb0

we looked at this & decided not to bother as they insisted that it was connected to a phone line - & it would call an 0870 number to update the box
a friend had his phone line knocked out constantly with the calls & he needed it for emergency reasons with his health, they insisted he pay the full contract before they would take it out - so it really put us off the idea of sky
