Wrong information on web site

It stated on Dunelm mill web site that the fabric I wanted to order had a pattern repeat of 64cm so I measured and went instore to order. When it came to cutting the fabric I found the pattern repeat to be 76cms so I adjusted the length of the curtains I wanted to make (a lot shorter than I intended) and was left with 2/12 metres of surplus fabric. I have emailed them and told them of their error but they still have not amended it on their site. I have asked to be refunded for the surplus fabric, am I within my rights to do this?

I'd say no. When you realised their mistake you should have contacted the seller for their advice and not cut the material.

Agreed. You've acted consistently with having taken ownership of the goods, by cutting it. The time to quibble is before you do anything when it may still be possible to reject it.

But you might want to speak to Trading Standards if they continue to refuse to correct the information on the website.

Result, I have received an email from them telling me to take the surplus fabric to the store and they will refund (still haven't changed the details on web site)
