Home insurance

Hi - My parents have gifted their house to myself and my brother but still live in it on a permanent basis. Neither myself or my brother live there. I've just tried to get buildings & contents insurance for 'their' house and am told that i need landlord insurance - is this true?? if so, do you know the best place for this? Thanks!

Yes, You are their landlord now, do they pay you any rent.

I believe your parents would have to take out the contents insurance.

You really need to look into the legalities of such an arrangement. ie google Deprivation of Assets too.

Have you got your home insured. If so go to them and see if they will do one.
Nobody has signatures anymore everyone has chip and pin!
