New Vauxhall Vectra Car Dealership Problems

Hi all

I bought a new car from a dealership on the last working day of April.

They promised me the car was in good condition and that is was working and would get the car serviced and taxed.

I went to collect the car after sorting the paperwork.

I have had a couple of issues crop up till today, I have found out they never serviced the car as agreed, there was a problem with the fuel filler cap solonoid which meant a call out from the AA at the petrol station to open it within 4 hours of owning the vehicle.

I called them to complain about this and after 8 trips to their affiliated garage (which was from where I live a 100 mile round trip each time) could not sort it so I gave up and will take it else where.

Upon finding out about this along with the car not being serviced I called again an there attitude was "what do you want me to do about it?

Now today driving home to take my child to A&E after having an accident at school my car broke down on the motorway losing all power and had to wait around for 2 hours for a recovery truck and have now dropped it off at a Halfords Autocenter as covered by my car warranty. Turns out there is a problem with the Turbo Boost control or something.

What can I do about the garage who clearly sold me a car with inherent problems and did not declare to me at the point of sale?

Bought a new car you mean a used car i hope .

How do you know its not been serviced ??

How was the car sold you say you bought from a shop ??

How does it have Halfords warranty ???

You say you bought from a dealership therefore did the car include the Vauxhall Network Q used car warranty .

It was a used car but new for me.

I have a full service history with it.

The car was bought from the car shop (name)

Why do you feel to be so picky over details which are irrelevant?

I was given warranty cover that works at every VAT registered garage.

Most likely because depending on the answers to those questions the advice will be different.

This is why people are picky about information it's vital for working out the right options for you to get this sorted.

So which is it - does it have a full service history or is it missing the last service?

If they agreed to do the service - do you have this written in to the agreement to purchase the car - or is it your word against there's?

Its totally relevant as you claim x but say y .
Information on how to proceed depends upon knowing facts that are very relevant .

The car had a full service history but with out this service on the record.

Unfortunately it was not in the written agreement of purchasing the car is was all negotiated on the phone.

But when I pulled him up on his promises i.e. "I was promised this car would be in full working order but there are bits on the car not functioning properly upon having time to fully acclimatize to the vehicle (2 days) I feel a little bit let down by this as I had full faith in your ability to deliver the goods" to their response the boss said "Take it up with the salesmen" and the Salesmen response "What do you want me to do about it?" I just want to know what I can do a month later as I have had a serious issue crop up. I.e. there is a Fault with the Turbo Boost regulator on the car and I have no torque or acceleration at all

So the boot control valve is showing as a fault? Assuming the engine light is on and the car is now in limp mode (hence the low power..)

Reset the light and carry on driving it until it comes back on.

What happens if the car develops a fault in 4 years time? Will you be waffling to the dealer again?

Looking at your other posts you seem to be a very unhappy person who gives the impresson the worlds owes you something?
