You can fit standard appliances behind doors with out it looking out of place.
you either have a 700 wide base unit (backless) with 2 x doors or use end panels with doors
By the time you have purchased the unit and doors and then the extra deep worktop to accommodate (depending on worktop material) and the loss of space, 10cms per appliance.
The cost can bounce around the same as going fully integrated.
Again this will depend on your level of appliance.
Its all doable and wont look wrong, its just weighing up what will suit your space

Sorry evokit I don't think it will look right. You'll just end up with lots of 350 mm wide full height doors, which will look obvious as to where you have tried to hide your free standing appliances.

Again whatever you do to try and 'build-in' free standing appliances will be a compromise.

I really don't see the problem with keeping free standing appliances like a washing machine or dishwasher visible. If that's what you have bought then that's what it is, just fit them properly and be proud of your properly designed and fitted kitchen that so happens to have some free standing appliances in it.

when most people do this its gen for the washing machine and tumble - so looks fine and works
with the other appliances such as d/washers and built under fridges etc its not really worth doing it and will get annoying opening 2 doors to access and the expense breaks even to replace.
People plans change when they have building work, buy a new kitchen and have an expensive appliance such as a w/machine or something and freestand may lose they look of the new kitchen they are trying to achieve
