Not an I.T. genius, like my grandchildren. Help required. How do I get rid of In-private browsing?? Never asked for and suddenly appeared cancels all my log-ins etc. Also instead of my usual start-up being Google north, I now have Trovi ??? Not asked for and all I get it adverts etc. Any help,in basic terms, appreciated.

I would go to your control panel, programs and then uninstall programs. And go down the list of programs and see if Tovi is there... then uninstall it. Restart PC/Laptop. I am no PC expert either though.... but I hope it helps. x0

Have your grandchildren been using your PC? If so, they've used private browsing to cover their browsing history, and they've most likely installed malware so your searches are being hijacked.
Start with a full MalwareBytes scan.
What OS are you running? No free lunch, and no free laptop
