I am in the same boat, only my bill has been going from £886 to over £4000 so something is clearly wrong, and I am sorry you are getting sarky comments, I could be wrong but I sense the sarky comments are from men who don't have to deal with household tasks and the difficult burden of childcare as well, its easier said than done!!:(

If you don't get any joy I would get on to the energy ombudsman or the CAB and perhaps they can do a comparison between periods of the year to see if something is amiss??

Having children and a vagina stops you from submitting meter readings and keeping on top of your bills?

    My mother managed it.

Thank you. I think some people forget the MSE forum rules - for all their perfection you'd think they'd be able to remember to be nice.

"Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto. Remember, the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue. A Guardian article once "doffed its cap" to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back. Our job is to help keep it that way."

Hmm, so she may have done, but its a pity she didn't instil some basic qualities such as decency and politeness in you at the same time!! You are clearly lacking on that front, oh and while you are at it.. make sure you swipe that chip that sitting on your shoulder off, it must be giving you such jip!! Nuff said.

I am perfectly decent and polite, there are plenty threads on here where I attempt, and sometimes succeed, to help people.

I reacted to a clearly misandrist and frankly ridiculous post you made. This is a public forum, if you post such bile you should be prepared to be called out on it.

You aren't getting sarky comments - you've managed to get yourself in this position by not keeping an eye on what you are using or spending and not correcting estimated bills. You seem to have spent some of the money that you had to pay the bill because you took it at face value without checking it and making sure it was correct. Having kids doesn't take away that responsibility.

I've had kids, I've been hard up and had to cut back on stuff to be able to pay my bills but I've always checked what I'm paying for and why. Basically because I was skint and couldn't afford to get a big one that I couldn't pay and was always wary of something that didn't look right.
There's not a lot you can do about it as you haven't a clue what you've used. All you can hope is that BG get it right in the end, but you won't really know if they have, will you?

If you weren't being snarky and sniping then please do tell what the point of your initial post was? it certainly wasn't intended to answer my question in anyway nor was it intended to be helpful - so why bother posting anything at all?
