Hi my boiler finally died this morning. Can anyone recommend a good make I have heard worcester are very good.
My last boiler was a potterton which broke down every six months at least so would like something more reliable.

    Hi,

I'm told vaillant are very good-the rolls royce of boilers is what my surveyer cousin said. We have just moved into a house with a vaillant boiler.

Good evening: In many instances, a boiler is only as good as the installation though there are boilers out there that my OH, Corgi Guy, wouldn't touch with a bargepole eg. Biasi, Ravenheat, Heatline, Ideal. Invariably, every manufacturer will have the occasional dud but Worcester, Vaillant, Viessman, Alpha and Glow-worms are the brands the OH tends to install. Whatever you choose make sure you get at least 3 itemized quotes and your CORGI engineer follows best practice outlined in this guide from the Energy Saving Trust http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/uploads/documents/housingbuildings/ce30.pdf

    Hi Guys

I have have a heatline s20 compact boiler, left over from the previous owner of the house. I'm relocating my boiler and wondering which type to go for. one guy recommended a valiant 831, outputs 81,800 btu. I have three bedroom house, lounge dining room, hallway, kitchen and bathroom with radiators. So i guess 5000 btu for each bedroom and 5000 each for lounge and dining room, kitchen 3000, bathroom, 2500, and hallway 3000. so i guess i need around 33500 btu in total. i feel i have been liberal with my figures. so not sure if 831 would be over kill..... there is also the 824 that outputs 64,800..... anyone got any thoughts about how i am trying to work out which boiler would be suitable

Another guy recommended an ariston ? anyone think they are they good ?
  • Is it true that Vaillant have recently bought Heatline? Are Heatline boilers now recommended?

Fist off, ive been in the spares industry for over 6 years & believe me whin i say not to touch the heatline range or ariston... your best bet is the worcester bosch, the spares are cheaper than a vaillant or a baxi.. more importantly, there warranty service isvery good too. Id go for a worcester 28i greenstar junior which is a 28kw boiler. have fun
