O/S Daily Thread Thursday 3rd July

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Another one just popping in before popping off. Am at Eurostar terminal all bright and early. Stayed in the worst hotel in London, ever, last night so feel rubbish. May get to sleep on board.
Haven't read for a couple if days so will send out good wishes to everyone.0 -
Good morning everyone :j
Well I am up bright and early as it was too warm to sleep even with my fan blowing air all over me. I decided to be productive and meal plan for the next couple of weeks. It features a lot of chickenthanks to slimming world and musclefood offers.
Hubby is just going off to work and the girls are starting to surface. I think I am going to the cinema today to watch Mrs Browns Boys with my friend but it's a bit early to ring her and confirm. I expect she will want to do some shopping too but I hope she doesn't get too much as we will have to take it into the cinema!
I'm babysitting my grandchildren tonight as DD14 is singing in a concert at school so my eldest DD has offered to go and watch her. I can't wait to see them it feels like ages since I've seen my grand daughter as she is in school full time. I still see my grandson most days as he is only at nursery part time. I know I am so so blessed to have them living around the corner from me.
OS wise today, I shall be prepping the veg and potatoes for tea before I go out and I may push a hoover around if I feel like it and that's about it. The family are having steak pie, mash and veg for tea and I will be eating chilli and rice again...probably for a few more days yet as my slow cooker is still quite full.
Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are doing and gentle hugs to all that would like one. Take care xx0 -
Good Morning all and a beautiful morning it is as well. The sun is shining and the sky is blue what more can a person ask for.
Hugs to all who are feeling down or poorly
Take care chums JackieO xxx0 -
Morning all
Meant to be the hottest day of the year so far today, lovely when you are in a kitchen ! DD has the day off and will hang the washing for me and have a tidy round.
Dinner will be bacon egg chips and beans so nice and easy dd's turn tonight.
Have my shopping being delivered tonight, so I need to clean the fridge before that comes.
Have good days all and take care in the sun xx0 -
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
DH up and getting ready to go to work.
Now light, blue sky and bright sunshine, its quite warm already too.
Washing on the line. Greenhouse/plants watered.
Dinner last night was cheese and mushroom omelettes – boys had chips and side salad with theirs I just had salad with mine. DH took extra pack-up as he was on a late job. Tonight we’ll be having ham, egg, chips/jacket potato.
Got the jobs done I needed to when I got in from work yesterday. Work was steadily busy, glad I’m now on days’ off until Monday.
Will crack on steadily with jobs that need doing, will just potter about as find doing lots of housework jobs in the heat leaves me feeling yuk! I don’t mind the heat/sunshine when I’ve not got anything to do and can sit out in it, ie, when on your hols!
Take it steady in the sunshine, remember the sunscreen x
Keep safe and well x

Morning :hello:
Oh I acheI can now do proper exercise (except bike riding and running, but I don't like running anyway) and it feels great. I haven't done it for sooooo long - and you can tell, lol. I aim to be fit by the end of september. Then I'm going to conquer the world.
Little nephew was fabulous yesterday, all smiles and laughter
I picked 4.5lb of broad beans last night. Also collected a few eggs and picked some berries. I know I said I'm trying to eat mostly from the garden, but I really don't think I can make a meal from that
It's overcast and breezy here, perfect gardening weather for me. The greenhouses need a good watering. I've stripped the lower leaves off the tomato plants, there's some lovely big tomatoes, can't wait for them to ripen. I'll pull a couple of onions up to see if they're ready. The potatoes have lots of flowers so they'll be ready soon.
I really need to steam clean the kitchen carpet but I can't be bothered. I'll fill the steamer and plug it in, then switch it on if I'm in the mood

Morning all,
Just popping in to say hello, going to have a bone density scan this morning. Oncologist wants to change my tabs but these can cause osteoporosis (I need that like a hole in the head).
Had a busy day yesterday, our good friends brought lots of stuff from their allotment, so last night Himself and I were podding peas and broadbeans, hulling raspberries and topping and tailing gooseberries. I then made 3 pots of gooseberry jelly and it looks a really good colour.
Have just showered and washed my hair so must get on.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to anyone who would like or need one.

Morning everyone another stunning day here and set to be very hot so the Lurcha is being walked early, he hates the heat and will spend the rest of the day behind the sofa laying on his back with his leggies up in the air looking like a very large dead spider!!!
He Who Knows is feeling OK again after his faint the other day so it's business as normal at the Lurcha household which is good. My nephew is back home again after finishing his degree course and now we wait for the results and then see what is available for him jobwise. His Degree is in Marine Biology focusing on Estuary Management so a fairly limited field for employment in the first place, we'll have to wait and see what developes. It will be nice to have him back in the village again anyway even if only fleetingly and they only live a couple of hundred yards from us so we should see something of him over the summer.
Hope that everyone who is poorly has a good day and that any problems amongst us are well on the way to being solved. Have a good day all, Lyn xxx.0 -
Lyn the picture you conjure up of Docky is so funny:)
Pleased He Who Knows is feeling well again, just keep an eye to him though, without him knowing of course.
