Halifax PPI - Paid Out on Claimed Policy

We had been told that PPI wouldn't pay out when a policy had been claimed
So there ya go.:T

    I'm certain they will have deducted the amount claimed already from any redress awarded. Nowhere have I seen it said that a refund is not possible if the insurance policy has been claimed upon.
    It's just more difficult to complain that the policy was mis-sold.

    Hmm...they did deduct it as the amount paid out was far more than the PPI paid in!

    I've never heard of any Bank doing this. So you've effectively had a refund AND been paid out for a long term claim?

    That's obviously an error on the Bank's part, you are not entitled to be paid twice.

    Don't spend the money just yet. They may yet spot their mistake if they have not deducted it and they can ask for the money back. An error by them does not give legal entitlement for the overpayment.

    Wait 6-12 months. After that, its unlikely they will spot it.
