Paying MBNA CC Balance, with a Debit Card (16 digit), any issues ?

Lloyds bank current bank account.
When got a credit card (MBNA), and you want to pay off a balance, using a debit card
a debit card linked to a bank account,
so when you do this, and it takes 2-5 days then
does this payment work in the same way as you would use the
the 16 digit card for buying online food, etc (entering the card into the website)
or when logging into MBNA, paying the a debit card (entering 16 digits, expiry date etc), then it could cause any further delays and security pauses ? / security 'holds' where you might have to phone them up?
or are the above mentioned debit card payments the 'same' type of transaction and operate in the same way,

You just enter the card details.0

I can make a payment to MBNA using my debit card. In fact they store the details if I remember correctly - I haven't used my MBNA card since before Christmas. I've never needed to phone and changing the debit card used has always been straightforward.
However I find it easier to make a payment from my internet banking. I have MBNA set up as a recipient, with a minimum payment direct debit. Then when making another payment I send it from my bank account.0 -
Why not pay using internet banking??
Faster payments = 2 hour for it to received by MBNA then max of 24 hours to show on your account.0 -

With MBNA faster payments show after 9pm on the same day, as long as the payment is made between 8am and 4pm Monday-Friday.
OP, you can use the 16-digit number like any other website. I don't really understand what complications you're expecting. Like other posters above, I would recommend faster payment through internet banking. The details you need for that are on your statement.0 -
I make sure the minimum payment is covered by direct debit.
Then some months, I make a debit card payment via the website, as Nebulous2 says above, it stores the info (apart from the 3 digit CVV code).
After clicking to do the payment, you just need to enter the usual 3 random characters from your verified by visa password.
Normally mine take 2 or 3 working days, before it is debited out of my bank account and applied to the account.
Depends how quick you want the payments to hit the account, mine is always on 0% APR, so I don't care when I make any additional payments.0 -
