Extension Quote

All,

I have no idea what is a fair price for comparison, so would like some ball park figure guidance. We currently have a single story extension downstairs, we are looking to add on top of that to put a bathroom upstairs. Dimensions are 2 x 4.5m.

Any ideas of the build costs would be greatly appreciated, if needs be pm me for a floor plan.

I think one of the main things to check would be whether the footings are up to the job. Seeing as it was originally a single story they might not be deep enough.

And the walls may not be thick enough. Sometimes these extensions are converted outbuildings.

If it's relatively new, it would e worth asking Building Control for their notes on the build - establish foundation depth. Otherwise you need to dig a hole tonget a quote on adding onto the existing.
