How do I cash in a unit trust?

I took out a unit trust via an execution-only/discount broker some years ago and I now need to release money from it but I am unsure how I go about doing this - can I do it via the investment company directly or do I have to go through the execution-only broker again? I no longer seem to be able to find the contact details for the broker, I suspect they have changed their name or ceased trading. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

What fund manager is it?
What stock is it?
Does the unit still exist?
Is it registered to you in your own name and home address?
Some UTM's will let you sell it through them directly. Some will require AML on top. Some will only deal with a broker.0 -
Thanks for your reply, very much appreciated
Fund manager is Old Mutual, it is their UK Smaller Companies stock
Broker was Maddison Monetary Management
The fund is still active and it is registered to my name and home address0 -
A quick google suggests that Madison may not currently exist so best contacting old mutual who will be able to sell or give you contact details if they need intermediary involvement,0
