npower billing chaos - will someone please answer me?

  • You're probably right. Not going to double check your figures.

You're more likely to get it sorted if you write the letter that numerous people have advised you to do, rather than talk to yourself on here.

I sent an email 2 weeks ago to npower's complaints team and have had no acknowledgement or response, but got response on twitter in 2 days. after a bit of tweeting they said they would pass the issue to the complaints team and it would take 10-22 days to get a response. :-/

Thanks Bluebirdman of Alcathays, vuvuzela and molerat, I seemed to have overlooked your replies in my rush to get my calculations down on here - no offence meant.

Guess I'll have to resort to snail mail and send it "signed for" Royal Mail delivery, gawd knows how big the pile that my complaint will end up sitting on

This is truly shocking. How can any company be so bad at billing and not care about putting their customers first. Dreadful :(

    Thanks.

Guess my email complaints are just one of 1,000s bombarding their inbox (wonder how many they delete?).

I read that tweeting @npowerhelp gets results, so did that earlier today as mentioned above. Foolish me expects a reply back within 12 hours....

Guess how many people are now bombarding @npowerhelp instead of email complaints?

As for phoning them up, forget it.

    10-22 days? OMG. :(

I'm working away from home for the next week or so, so in the unlikely event they do contact me (highly unlikely from your comment), they better not ring me and leave a message...

I want a reply in writing, whether tweeted, emailed, or printed out and posted.

    :(

And, this is like blackmail - I am totally trapped as an npower customer and can't switch to someone new until they bill me correctly - hell, it's only been 14 months now.

Yes you can, just because npower won't bill you does not mean you can't switch. Make sure you keep copies of everything and switch.

Posting all this on the thread won't make npower sort anything out any quicker. They are in melt down. I am a customer of npower and will be an ex customer as soon as I return from my holiday. I have am still sorting out a problem with them that was started at the beginning of April. I do keep track of of my energy use every month and know exactly how much I spend.

How much should the bill be, it is not rocket science to calculate it.

WRITE A LETTER HEADED COMPLAINT. Stop e-mailing and phoning. Make it factual, the one above is a bit of a rant, with dates, meter readings and calculations to support your case.

The best piece of advice is in the post above. Follow it.

Just move, pay the final bill - there is good reason not too.
If you don't get a final bill just cancel DD and wait for them to complain.

Do not forget to write to OFGEM
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring
