How much do you think you'll be able to teach yourself in the space of a few weeks compared to an accountant that has years of training and years of experience? I'd also bet there are accountants that specialise in taxi/private hire, too. As trailingspouse has said, a good accountant is worth their weight in gold.0

Taxi driver
I'm an accountant (specialise in small business & tax advice) and I can't remember any of our taxi drivers actually having a tax bill and I'm sure most of them wouldn't achieve that themselves. That could just be our taxi drivers though! My Debt Free Diary

What colour is the vehicle?0

You don't know what you don't know. With tax the devil is in the detail, that's why people are trying to get the facts from the OP.
Eg., VAT rules are different as to the number of passengers you carry, hence why it's important to know whether it's a car or minibus.
Eg., capital allowance rules to get tax relief on the vehicle's purchase depend on whether it's a normal car (such as private hire) or whether it's a specially designed taxi (such as a hackney/black cab).
Would you have known such differences even existed, let alone know where to look to research and learn about them, or how they could impact on your tax bill?0 -
1 in front and 3 in back = 4
That's a shame. Had it been an 8 seater then you would have had a zero rating for VAT. This is better than sliced bread.
The phrase "transporting people" led me to think you may have a larger vehicle than a car. As it is I would have thought that you would not want to register for VAT and, therefore, you would have no need to bother with "vat invoices" since they are just "invoices"The only thing that is constant is change.0 -

I only asked as I know you can get tax relief on green cars.0
