Virgin Experience Gift Card

Hi
I was given a £75 gift card for a virgin experience day - the main site won't accept these cards as payment only the gift card site experiences which are not as good value nor desirable.
Why is the money on a dedicated gift card not valued as much as new purchases?
It's like having a JL gift card and being told you can only use it on the items in the basement not the main shop!!!
Is this acceptable behaviour by Virgin - take the money from the main site showing the good stuff - get interest on the money whilst unspent - only offer substandard items to use the money on.
Very Frustrated!!!!!!!!!!

I found a trick about the gift cards. You can choose the experience on the main site and add it to the basket. You can apply a discount code - you can find it in internet. Then you can open the site for the gift cards and the discount will still be applied.
The only problem that I couldn't skip was that I had to pay postage althought the experince could be delivered by e-mail on the main site.0
