Hi all,
I switched from Ovo to Scottish Power using MSE's Cheap Energy Club and I have just noticed I have been making direct debit payments to BOTH companies ever since. Basically my Ovo account never got cancelled.
Now to my slight embarrassment I didn't notice this for several months so I've overpaid quite a bit. I've contacted Ovo, but does anybody have any other advice about this?
I also thought this post might serve as a warning. Check your bank statements carefully!

Only advice is to not budget to spend your refund until it is in your pocket - this may take weeks longer than it ought to.
And double-check that the supply has been transferred.0 -
Thanks Nada - Ovo say they will refund me so I'll wait to hear. There were very apologetic to be fair and didn't try to mess me about. Obviously proof will be when the money actually goes in my account...0

Easily avoided simply by ensuring that you cancel the DD once the final bill has been taken. Only you can do that-not the recipient. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Oops, no one wants to pay bills twice L Please could you send us email, including your account number and the best number to reach you on, to socialmedia@ovoenergy.com and we’ll put this right. We will of course refund any monies incorrectly paid to us. We hope this helps. Thanks, OVO“Official Company Representative
I'm a verified Ovo Energy representative. MSE has given me permission to reply to questions about the company, to help solve issues. (Check I'm on the verified companies list). I'm not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I have please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0
