building outside storage.

Hi folks

I am newish to DIY and are going to attempt my first build - an outside storage unit (our shed is over flowing)

The problem is the price of wood. I don't have any reclaimed wood places near me, so I have to rely on the usual places, (Homebase, Rembrand, Keyline and Jewsons.

I expect to have to pay out for the structural wood, but I need help with the cladding type wood.

The price difference between interior and exterior wood in considerably different (looking at tongue and groove) Can interior wood be used outside with wood protector?

Does anyone have any suggestions how to keep the cost down?

Many Thanks
