Drayton Manor - is it worth buying 2 day ticket?

DH and I are looking into taking the children (6 and 2 year olds) to Drayton Manor.

We have not been before and it looks good for the children as they would enjoy Thomas Land. I have priced the tickets online and for the four of us it costs £79.50.

From the map I can see that the theme park looks quite big. For anyone who has been there before: is it worth getting a 2 day pass or is one day more than enough to do the activities/rides in Thomas Land?

Thomas land isn't that big - it is quite easy to walk around Drayton Manor - make sure you see the show at Thomas Land, my 9 year old godson loved it!

One day should be more than enough, as long as you get there early.

Thank you for this. I don't want to be spending money on an extra day if it can be seen in one :).

I'd agree with this - Drayton Manor has loads of rides and attractions (plus the zoo) but its very compact, they cram loads of stuff into a remarkably small space.

Get there for the start of the day and you'll be able to see and do everything in one day.

yup one day is enough to see and do everything. It's a good theme park but be a bit wary as their customer service is awful, at one point there were daily complaints on their facebook page being removed just as fast as new complaints were being added!

we went a few years ago and one of the staff members helped themselves to my handbag. I put in a complaint and never heard anything, it took three months to get through to a manager despite leaving several messages. Rubbish!

If you're staying in the south Staffs/North Warwickshire area, this place would be a good, much cheaper, 2nd day:

The main attractions for your young children are the Children's farm, for which there's a small charge and you can feed the animals, and the play area. These are in a lovely setting with craft shops in old farm buildings, cafe, garden centre, walks to small and large fishing lakes. Very rural, nice views, and free.

(This has lovely memories for me of my Dad's final years. Still mobile at nearly ninety, he loved going here and watching the progress on landscaping the new big lake).

Edit: Just checked out Trip Advisor which has highlighted that Wednesday is when loads of bikers turn up. Possibly at attraction in itself ... but good to know to avoid if you want to experience Hoar Park's usual tranquility ....!

Also, fairly close by is Kingsbury Water Park. Mostly for walking and picnicking. No boating activity on lakes. Children's play area. Miniature train and donkey rides, but I think only on Sundays.
