Handbag size on Ryan air?

Ok got the cabin bag size but my handbag is 3 cm over! Will this matter? Plus saw mention of priority boarding ensures your cabin luggage doesn't go in the hold, but can't see this mentioned on the website.

We travelled Ryanair last week and nobody looked at our luggage re size. We had pre-booked seats and checked in on line ( but did not have priority boarding) so went straight to the gate.
We were told by one of the crew they usually let the first 90 in the queue take their hand luggage on board then ask the later ones to put it in the hold. This seems quite feasible as on the way out we were near the end of the queue and they asked us to put ours in the hold but I told her I had laptop - tablet - phones and no lock so she said ok and moved up the queue.
Coming back from Malaga lots of the later boarders were quite angry as they had been asked to take tablets etc out of their hand luggage and carry it onboard with them then had nowhere to put it.
We bought a Thermos cold bag the same size as the handbag size they said is allowed so took our lunch on with us - used a plastic bag of ice to keep it cool and got rid of it before security check.0 -
I'm going to risk it, but will put another smaller bag in the cabin bag just in case and will do a swop if need be.0

It might sound obvious, but on most (not all) of the Ryanair flights I have flown on, those at the front of the queue usually get their bags checked, the later it gets, the more the pressure increases to get the flight off on time, the less likely you appear to be to have your bags checked.
I travel with a Samsonite expendable, which when expanded is larger than the requirements, even so - I have never been stopped. So though there may be some keen eyes who pull up everything, there seems to be discretion.0
