Best Instant Access Saver

Hi

I am looking to move away from a Santander Flexi Saver account due to its rather pathetic 0.5% interest rate.

Can anyone recommend a good instant access savings account with interest above 1%? I am looking at the Post Office Instant Saver at 1% as I occassionally need to withdraw the money over the counter. I have about £1500 or so in savings. I know that all the rates are pathetic at the minute so it is a case of trying to get the best of a bad bunch I suppose. Many thanks.

I just opened a Tesco one at 1.35%. The interface is pretty good and I had reason to ring them twice today because of wanting to transfer an unusually large amount in and out. The phone menu was short, and a person answered very quickly, was easy to hear and knew what they were talking about, dealing with my requests with minimal fuss.
There are one or two accounts paying a little more interest, but it gets a thumbs-up from me. Well it would if I had any...

Edit: Post Office has had some very poor reviews on here lately.

Try a TSB Plus account, staggering 5% AER. Find the thread about TSB Plus on the forum for more.
