What are some easy jobs to get, that always need people and will hire?

With no qualifications and will pay minimum wage?

I have a friend who is always complaining (depressingly) they can't get a job no matter how hard they try (they reckon theres no jobs available), so trying to help them by recommending them.. and to find out if he's just lazy and not willing to do something or there is really a lack of jobs even at the bottom scale?

Outbound telephone canvassing (e.g. double glazing, fitted kitchens), making appointments for sales reps to go and give quotes.

    Usual cleaner/carer type of thing.

    Shelf-filling/supermarket work.

    Bar work.

Of course, having a list doesn't make a vacancy appear .... these are just jobs with low recruitment criteria. Having said that, any job will always go to a person that has experience, or who is known to them, or who presents well (sucks up) at interview.

How about advertising as a male escort? Plenty of customers I hear that are willing to pay upwards of a few hundred for an hours 'work'.

There's not necessarily a lack of jobs at the bottom of the scale but there could well be intense competition for them with so many applicants that the employer will inevitably find someone with more qualifications, experience or skills than others.

Many roles that don't require qualifications and skills often demand that the applicant has relevant, recent experience - simple jobs like bar work, security, retail and so on. Some require people to have their own transport (care roles).

How long has your friend been unemployed? Some employers will shun the unemployed.

Try not necessarily to think your friend is lazy. They could be ignorant that their CV or cover letter is poor, they don't tailor applications to the advertised role, for example, and dont' realise their approach could be improved.

Or they could have lose their motivation and confidence after so many rejections - they do have work ethic but their energy and drive has been sapped by losing out on so many roles so they've stopped applying.

Nursing homes always want carers. Money isn't brilliant. More often than not minimum wage. More once you've got NVQ/CQF.
But if you have the right attitude and actually get off on helping the vulnerable, it's a good job.
There is actually a SHORTAGE OF MEN in the care business. People think it's a woman's job but the reality is that in many situations a man is needed. My wife is in a NH which specialises in early dementias and the ratio on staff is about 3:2 women to men. Contracted hours are 36 but overtime is always available, again particularly for the men as a lot of the women are juggling family and don't want it. And they're getting the tax credits.
I'd suggest he try it. He might surprise himself. And it's better than being on the dole.
