Caught by the tax camera on the way to PO, will I be fined?

You'll be fine. I was returning from an MOT a couple of years ago, and passed an ANPR camera - which promptly sent me a letter. I'd actually bought tax from the PO the day after the camera, before the letter arrived. I ignored it thoroughly, and never heard another sausage.0

Amazing how those cameras are positioned -just where people who are on their way to buy tax pass.
Do they only have them on the streets the 1st and 2nd of the month too ?
Sounds like they have good value as a prompt.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Well you weren't on the way to the PO were you :P And technically, at that point, you had no tax.
My dad was fined, I think £75, for no tax and he was on the way to the PO, but I think it was a few days after it had run out, maybe you'll be lucky!0 -

Technically I detoured straight to the post office, so as that was my destination straight after, I was in effect on my way to the post office

I passed one of those cameras without tax. Went straight home and bought it online and didn't get any fine through the post. You should be ok but you will have to wait and see.0

who knows, wait til you get something through the post.
Excellent, so if I get caught on the 24th, I can just go and purchase it after and argue that I had it all along?
Come on, use your noggin

I don't think the DVLA records are quite that inaccurate
It boils down to whether it is the time and date that tax is purchased that is recorded, or just the date.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges
