Where should we go?

I am looking for ideas for my friend's hen night, she has left it up to me to arrange. There will be approx 20-30 of us, looking for a boozy hen night with dancing. Are there any venues where we could spend the whole night rather than go pub to pub? We all live in the Newcastle area. The bride to be is in her 40's & the hen party ages vary between 20's-50's, so somewhere that will be suitable for all ages. I don't think we have any easily offended ladies in the group either. I look forward to any ideas.

We went on a hen night and I think it was on a ship called the Tuxedo Royale. You can stay all night and it has a revolving dance floor which is great fun when you have had a few!!

ALso there is a website for Newcastle night life. When I find it I will add it. But I am just going out so maybe you will find it sooner than me!!!

    hey

you should be able to get a cheap train ticket to Edinburgh or Glasgow then you could post on the local money saving boards for ideas of places to go. Both are becoming really popular with hen and stag parties but I would avoid Edinburgh in August due to the festival, there isn't a room in the whole city. In Glasgow I love the Curry-oke place (they make you stand on the chairs and dance! Its where I wanna go on my hen night... :o) and I also love Reflex the 80's bar. there is a bar/club to cater for every age and taste and its a fab city, gets my vote! (I did live there for four years so i'm biased...) Maybe going to Scotland would seem a bit "exotic" (don't laugh!) the way going to Newcastle for a hen night is a big thing for us Scots girls (also a possibility for my hen night now that i've heard about this revolving dance floor....!)

Anyway have fun! :j I am going to a hen weekend next week at Alnwick Castle of all places! There is some kind of 80's revival thing on there and the bride 80's mad... :D

You can get the train from Newcastle to Ayr which is a good night out. Doesn't take too long on the train either.

is Blackpool too far to travel?
loads of places there and I'm sure I seen a company that does everything including accom, tickets to club's ect for hen nights
  • We're going to a place called the Birdcage in Manchester, although I believe there are other ones across the country. They have a stage show every 45mins with drag queens doing big show numbers and then disco inbetween. It costs £15 and if you book in advance you get a reserved booth for all of you and a queue jumping permit. I can't wait. If you google The Birdcage Manchester, it will bring up the website which has all the details and also videos and pics of the nightclub.

Blackpool is a bit further than we wanted to go. I have looked at the Birdcage website & noticed they have a venue in Leeds, so I have made enquiries for there. Will put it to the bride when I next see her.

The bride does not seem too keen on the birdcage, so back to the drawing board I think. She seems to quite fancy York.....

    Hiya

I had mine in Manchester and it was one of the best weekeneds of my life! I had so much fun.

    This is how it went

We stayed at Days City apartments CLICK - These apartments were fine but I have stayed in THESE and they are a bit posher.

So we all arrived on the Friday night I had won vouchers for these people PAMPER PARTY - and so we all had to pay a little extra and we all had some pamper stuff done by trained professionals. I personally thought it was very expensive and if I had my time again I would of just had a quiet Friday night and just all had pizza's and played some games and just given us time to get to know each other.

Still it was a fab evening and I had made everyone hen night bags with an iternary of the weekend and little gifts.

So then on the Saturday day we all went shopping and planned to meet up at 1pm at Harvery Nic's in Manchester city centre. I had booked a table for us all and had paid for some pink champagne to be served and we all clubbed in and had some sandwhiches.
It was sooo much fun - we were ladies what lunched.

Then we all met back up at the apartment and got ready - and then we went in one of these babies CLICK ( a black hummer limo) - It was soooooo fun. You bring your own drink in the Limo and so we all got sloshed and it was just brilliant.

Then we went for a meal - I can't remember where - but it wasn't that nice but I am sure you can find some nice places (or we can help you).

Then we just had some drinks and then we went to Life Cafe (where I had rung up and got us a VIP table and free entry) - It was the perfect place to go as they have a live band and play fab tooones and it meant everyone loved it. Even my Mum. We all had a brilliant time and the cocktails are fab there too.

Then we were meant to home but ended up meeting some blokes who took us to gay club in Canal Street ! Brilliant. (The oldies went home)

Got home when it was light and as they say "What goes on, on the Hen Night, stays on the Hen Night" :D .

Then Fry up on the Sunday and Home.

    It was legendary.

Hope that gives you some inspiration x
