Problem with my tomato plants

I Have 12 tomato plants growing in pots. My problem is that some of the branches are so thick and heavy, they have keeled over and are now resting on the ground although they haven't snapped.

I have tried tying them to the cane support but it's not really working. As there are very few yellow flowers yet, I was wondering if I should cut them off.

Any idea would be really appreciated.

    Hiya...
    branches? what branches?
You should have one stem with leaves on and trusses of yellow flowers that the tomato's set on.

something is telling me if you have branches you have not been picking out the extra growth between the leaves. Let this grow and the plant will put all its power into this instead of growing tomatoes.
Unless you have got the type called bush tomatos?

Actually, I would describe them as bushes. I have posted here about these plants recently. They are piccolino tomatoes. I dried the seeds from supermarket bought tomatoes and I'm trying this as an experiment.

I am guessing the plants need a good trimming down.

The variety Piccolino is an F1 Indeterminate tomato, so it's potluck what grows from it's seed, but if you want to treat the offspring as an Indeterminate there's pruning advice HERE
