Got over 5 years NCB now,

I have not protected my NCB.

I am moving to new insurance company end of month.

Do I have to protect my NCB in order to take my NCB with me to the new insurance company ??

Thank you.

Nope, you just need proof of the no claims bonus. Most insurance companies will accept your renewal letter from your current insurer as long as it shows the NCB but it's best to enquire with whichever new insurer you wish to use.

Protection allows a small number of claims without impacting the number of years discount you can say you have - normally 2 claims in 3 policy years. It has nothing to do with switching insurers
