Buying a Period Style Gas Fire

Hi,
I am looking to buy a period style gas fire, Im not after one of these fancy modern looking fires that go on the wall as it doesnt go with my decor.
I found this Ekofires 3090 as the one I like and within my budget and its the cheapest online. Is Ekofires brand any good? Secondly, am I correct in believing gas fires are cheaper and more economical than electric fires to run?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

They are not fantastic TBH with you, they were originally known as Focal point fires. If you want a load of running around, if anything goes wrong, or an extortinate price for spares, then go ahead. B&Q also sell their range.

The better ones to go for are from the likes of Valor, Gazco, Legend, they have a good pedigree and do offer better service if any issues arise.

That fire is only a basic model and is also only radiant. You can get something at a similar price which is convected from the ones listed above. I have dealt with FP in the past and they are a pain to deal with, this is what my opinion is based on.
