Selling without a photo - advice needed

I have loads of stuff to sell on ebay, but I have no way of taking a photo to post there. I have no camera and I have given up trying to convince my friend with a digital camera to sort it out for me - she is never going to get round to downloading them!
- what do you think I can realistically sell without a picture?
My current sale items include
- four mobile phones
three of which are only for parts or need fixing, one is quite a nice one
- Some shoes
- a few item of clothing
- modem extension cable
- hair straighteners
-any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!
I really dont think people are going to buy shoes/clothes without seeing a photo of them, but what do you think about the mobile phones etc?
can I post pictures from the net that depict my item but are not actually the item itself - so long as I make it REALLY obvious that this is the case!
Thanks!
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!

If im honest I dont look at things without a picture. I like to see what I am buyying for a number of reasons. you can check the person actually has the item, you can sort of check the condition and ask any questions if the pictures not to clear.

If you do sell without pictures, you wont get such good prices as selling with a picture IMO :)

also be careful of scammers with mobile phones, make sure you ship them only to the UK and dont accept any offers to buy them outside of ebay. HTH

What you could do is go to the mobile phone website (will get a few tuts for this) and take a copy. Then in your description point out that photo is for illustrative purposes only. Better than no photo at all. Ensure you mention all scatrches and dents if you do this.

Why not buy a cheap digital camera. Try here:- http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/technical/refurb/shop.php good value and good service.

Unless you have photos I think you will not achieve very good prices so I would leave it until you can sort it out one way or the other.

I will not bid on anything that doesn't have a pic.

Does your printer also act as a scanner? If so, why not get a cheapo disposable camera, have the pics developed by one of the really cheap postal companies, and then scan them onto your PC, and take it from there.

Thanks! your right about the photos of course (I was just hoping I could prove myself wrong!) - am looking into camera, although I was hoping that ebay profits would go towards a really decent one (I'm massively old fashioned and hate digital ones, so was looking to buy a second hand nikon, possibly a newer version than my Dads old manual which has been serving him well now for ten years and still going strong! - anyway - i digress!) nb. the links were really useful with regards to this! - am going to see if I can get prints from a disposable onto a CD cheaply - hopefully the mobile phone sale alone would cover those costs.....

One of Costo's best deals has always been film processing. They'll process a 35mm X 36 exp and bang it on a CD (no prints) for less than £2. :)

That said, the ability to take a few pics with digital and use the best one that makes it sooooooooo appealing. :) so I'm with invest in a cheap digital camera as suggested above, £40 to buy a used 1MP to 2MP model, use it to its full potential, host your own pics, and you'll never look back. :)
