Hi,
I live in a block of flat with 40 flats. The existing carpet is around 11 years old, and is a bit worn out in some places. We also have carpet in the staircases.
I believe the existing carpet is: http://www.jhscarpets.com/range/signature-ii
Apparently, it was typical mid-range contract carpet, and it lasted a reasonable time.
Could someone please advise on what type of carpet would look smart for the longest time?
My assumptions:
1) Darker is better, so looking for dark grey
2) Patterns or lines are better, showing less stains
3) Needs to be synthetic. Nylon or Polypropylene??
4) Not sure about low pile vs. high pile.
I am considering something like this:
http://www.jhscarpets.com/range/vintage-plus (ribbed pile) or
http://www.jhscarpets.com/range/prime-contender-design-1 (cut pile)
The "vintage" range looks smart and seems to be rated for commercial-heavy use (15 years when previous carpet was "only" 10 years), but has a very low height (ribbed pile), so not sure if it would last longer than regular high pile carpet, would be easier to clean, and also if it would be noisier.
Thanks
S.
