Hi

Just wanted some opinions on my lawn. Is it dying or in need of watering? Lots of brown patches after it got mowed last week.

Don't worry, from what I can see it's just drying out in the summer heat, it's been pretty warm and dry of late and if you look at local parkland etc, it all browns off in dry summers and comes back fine in autumn. :)

Agree, but I'd also say it's being cut too short. If you do water it, an occasional SOAK is much better than a regular sprinkle. Encourages the roots down, so better able to cope with droughts.

There is no essential need to water it.... even a brown lawn will recover in the autumn. But, if you want a green summer lawn, watering will help.

Watering your lawn is the biggest waste of water ever, unless it's very newly sown. It will recover when it rains, always. As suggested, leave it longer between cuts, raise the cut, and just sit it out.

How long since it was last mown? Looks like you might have taken too much off at once and it might be greener if you had cut less off more often.
