    If going the multi mange route as in the HL fund then I would give consideration to the Jupiter Merlin range. However I would prefer Investment Trusts although the cost arguments are now probably more win favour of funds rather than IT's, the 'biggie' is the IT's ability to use gearing which can aid returns (or hinder them).

    For a 20 year fire and forget then I would go for Vanguard Life Strategy 80%.

    My current choice is a range of Investment Trusts such as Caledonia, RIT Capital Partners, Law Debenture and a few others such as Biotech Growth, Aberforth Smaller Co's etc. I try to keep the numbers down but if you don't want to do the research, opt for a VLS fund.
