Car tax, expect or not and how to apply

Hello last year I bought a brand new fiesta, and was told there is no tax charge as it's low emotions and small engine etc.
I've just noticed the tax disc runs out today!

How do I get a new one? I've not had a letter from dvla.

How long is the tax free for?

Only the year I'm afraid. You need a disc, even.if it's free. You can apply online until midnight, using your v5, and you'll be legal.

Just surprised you've not had your reminder through by now. Bike tax runs out today and I had the reminder through last week (taxed online on Friday, got the disc today)

Yup you need a new disc to dispay. On the disc it says beside the Amount - NIL.

You'll only need to display it until the end of September when discs are being abolished.

Perhaps you'll have to set up a Direct Debit in future to pay the DVLA £0.00 every month. LOL

ps I made that last bit up - but you'll still need to contact them once a year.

It's free forever ... or until they change the classifications again when they decide they want to fleece motorists some more.
