Bronchitis/Bad Cough

Anyone know of anything "natural" that is good for the above (pleeeeease don't say white vinegar :o ;D).
Anti-biotics normally don't touch me and I hate taking them anyway. Get it every year (bronchitis that is!) and, in case anyone wonders, I don't smoke.
I used to take oregano oil drops in water which really helped. Holland & Barratt used to sell this, but stopped a while back.
Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

I think borage is supposed to help but not sure how you would take it - i must look it up.
Zinc is supposed to be good but if you don't like taking tablets, you could eat a lot of shellfish :-X
Lots and lots of soothing liquids ( not containing dairy products as apparently this causes lots of mucus) like honey & lemon and everytime you have a hot drink, cup your mouth over it to inhale the steam.
My mum swears she gets a cough by being out in too windy weather without a hood. She always has a scarf in her bag for this reason.0 -
Thanks Chris ... shame I hate shellfish!
I'll look up borage, don't know much about this. I do remember hearing/reading that cough medicines are a complete waste of time.

Sorry Mimijane, according to https://www.wholehealthmd.com borage is good for .........."relieving boredom and dispelling melancholy".......... well you feel melencholy when you're unwell don't you? ;D
you could look at https://www.kellymom.com and click on the "cold & allergy remedies compatible............."
And of course, there's echinacea ::)0 -
Hi Chris,
Looked up borage and bronchitis and it can be used as a dried herb fused in water, or as a tincture. Only problem is, it's incredibly difficult to obtain apparently because it's liable to cause liver damage with long-term use! I'd maybe give it a whirl short-term, but doubt if I'd be able to find any.
Thanks for the other suggestion ... I'll take a look.
