in Credit cards
I got one because we were touring around Europe for about a month and didn't want to load up with cash.
Informed Halifax a good time before we left and was told that there wouldn't be a problem.
Well paying by cc was fine in restaurants and supermarkets but cash dispensers just ... wouldn't.

Some banks don't like credit cards (or maybe just MasterCards), it's usually just a matter of trying different machines; once you find one that does play ball, try and stick with that bank. Halifax Clarity works as well as any of my cards.Well paying by cc was fine in restaurants and supermarkets but cash dispensers just ... wouldn't.
Having said that, I rarely get problems except sometimes outside Europe.0 -

Indeed, and if possible a Visa and a MasterCard - I've had occasions where machines won't take one or the other, not a situation you want to be in if you need cash in a hurry (airport taxi, for example).0
