Which Power Steering Fluid?
Options
Heya all, quick question. I've got a 2001 Y Reg 1.2 Clio Sport 16v. Before I order it, will this be compatible Power steering fluid?
Wynn's power steering fluid:

Thanks for any help.

Yes, it is a universal fluid to replace / mix with most of the standard fluids.0

Brilliant thanks. I wanted something with stopleak in because I think it may be leaking as the level is really low and I think has been for quite a while.
Been getting a whining noise for a while and its gradually got worse, I though it was the gearbox at first but on looking it up people suggested low PAS fluid level. When I checked I cant see any in there!
So need something ASAP and then I can monitor it.
Thanks for quickly confirming!0 -
There is no acceptable use level really, it needs investigating urgently.
Usually you'll find the gaitors full of the stuff :-(0 -
Heya again, inside my cars PAS fluid resivoir I think is a filter, piece of plastic with lots of slits around it and 2 little bits of plastic sticking up at the bottom. I want to take this out but it wont budge, is it possible to remove it?
I put my fingers in and tried sliding it up and even tried a clean pair of pliers grabbing the little bits of plastic at the bottom and gave a tug but it doesnt move at all.
or am i totally wrong and it doesnt come out?
Ignore: Ive done it now0 -
use factory fluid, they change every 100K miles or so, so it's best to make sure you have picked the correct stuff for all those miles.0

Yeah it's just gone over the 100k miles mark. Really it needs completely flushing out and check for leaks etc.. but I've only got the 1 bottle of fluid (1 litre) and it is very low so just gonna top it up for now then think about doing that myself in the near future.0 -
What I mean is, the power steering fluid is going to be left in there for another 100K miles (or until it gets scrapped). So it's best to make sure you have the maker approved fluid than a general aftermarket one.
I know VW are very particular about their fluids.
It's probably OK to top up - but make sure you do a full flush and fill with the approved stuff soon after.0 -
Innit all atf anyway? And stop leak isnt very good0
