Don't forget the cashback on household bills too. In theory, could wipe out the fee.0

            Quick question,
This morning I opened a second basic account with HSBC. I also have an Advance current account.
Can I use the switching service to take advantage of the Halifax £100 switch offer & still keep my HSBC Advance account?0

If you switch the basic account yes you can keep the Advance account.:footie: Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. Someone posted a schematic of how all their accounts were linked together. Does anyone know where I can find that post again? The user also explained the best day to set up SO's and to o it every four weeks etc, but I can't find the post...0

Brilliant, good stuff, even though I opened the account today, will it still be ok to switch tomorrow?
 I can't see anything in the T & C's
That's what I do. It's easier though if you wait for the debit card to come through the post as they might require the 16 digit number.:footie: Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. Do any of the banks have restrictions on moving money by SO to another account at the same bank? For example, could I have a SO to move £1000 from Bank of Scotland account 1 to BOS account 2 to satisfy the monthly pay-in requirement?0

You need to check the T&Cs. Some banks allow it, some don't.0

Sorry, I don't have the posts either, but I know the day was Wednesday, as that avoids all Bank and public holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. They each fall on a Wednesday four times in 28 years (but not every 7 years), and most of those probably miss the SO day.Someone posted a schematic of how all their accounts were linked together. I have been looking to open the Halifax Reward Account for some time to take up the offer of £5 per month but not got round to it. I now see they have a £100 offer for switching accounts but I do not have an account to switch.
HSBC also have an incentive at the moment of £120 for switching. My question is can I open both accounts and then switch them. Also can I switch them before I set up the funding and DDs necessary to fulfil the terms and conditions?0
