Hiya,I had a company called Claims Advisory Group (based in Manchester) get my PPI back for me away at the beginning of all the PPI malarky. They recently got in touch with me saying I had another credit card and sent me a form to sign to enable them to get the money for me. They called this morning and I asked them what the fee was. They said 39%. I said that was a bit high so I wasn't interested. They then "WARNED" me that I would have to pay a cancellation fee if work had been done on the claim...!!!!!!!! my self now and worried out my head as I have ABSOLUTELY ZERO spare funds...this could put me out in the street!!! ps, i am really concerned and worried!!!

If you haven't signed for them to represent you in this complaint, then they cannot proceed to charge you for "cancellation".
However, be aware that if you decide to "go it alone", the Claims Company will still want their fee.
If money is so tight, you might as well let them send the complaint on your behalf -at least some money might still be coming your way.0 -
If you never signed the contract then you have nothing to pay. If you signed a contract and then pull out then you will need to check the contract to see what the cancellation charge is.
As mentioned above, if they proceed with the complaint and fail, then you have to pay nothing. If they succeed, then its better you get it after their cut rather than before.
in future, do not act on these cold calls. You avoid scams, dodgy dealing and all sorts of horrors by not acting on cold calls.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
