i dont see a problem if you are claiming for something you are entitled too
its the professional sellers and carbooters who claim for disability but manage to hump there goods around and stand in a field for 3hrs while claiming"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -
Sorry I had forgotten that I had posted this...
the expenses would well out way any profits I could possibly make, for instance the heating bill for the greenhouse in winter is well over £100 and then adding on P&P for sales etc. if anything any of the money made from selling online would go back into buying more plants and growing the ones I currently have it would be selling to support my hobby not selling to make money.0 -

You are still buying to sell and that makes it a business regardless of whether you are making a profit or not.0 -
Make sure you understand all the defra/similar regulations on selling/moving any plants - and check if you need a license for what you're growing/selling.0

This is very obscure... there are very few plants which you require any kind license to transport anywhere in Europeunless your sending food crops such as potatoes etc.
@Flyonthewall I don't see it that way as my main intention is not to make money it is selling any excess however I will look into it.0 -

It's not about opinion or how you see it, there is no grey area. You buy to sell, you are a business. You need to declare it. HMRC don't care if you don't intend to make money, they care that you are buying to sell regardless of profit.0 -

We don't know what the OP's growing/doing .... or where they might flog it to. Many casual sellers might not see a problem (beyond how to wrap it and how much postage would be) to send a cutting to the US, or Japan, or an ex-Brit in Aus who misses that plant....
So I said .... check.0 -
I used to receive CA - there is no issue at all so long as your profits are below the CA threshold (over the whole year). Make sure you register as self-employed though. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
