Parking Fine

Hi, I'm looking for some advise please. I recently got a parking ticking a Braehead Shopping center and not sure if have to pay it or not. The person I spoke to (not the parking attendant) told me I got the ticket because I had parked in the bay next to a pedestrian crossing, which is seemingly an extension of the pedestrian crossing. My front drivers side wheel was also just touching the white line of the parking bay. The ticket itself only mentions that I am "not parked withing the markings of the bay or space". My wheel was barely touching the white line and it was the white line on my side of the bay and no way encroaching the bay beside my car. The company that issued the ticket is called UKPC. Is this legal and do I have to pay?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

When you read the Newbies Sticky - remember just to concentrate on the advice for Scotland! - and to confirm, you can check the recent threads about Braehead in this forum.
Also, this is not any kind of fine, UKPC do not have the authority to issue them and you do not have to pay it!
