Insurer asking if reasons for delay in applying

Options
Hi,

I have been helping my g/f make some PPI claims for her Mum. All of the loans/cards etc are from some years ago.

One of the companies Fitfyplus have replied saying they need to establish if there are any exceptional circumstances that have delayed bringing the insurance complaint to their attention? ie incapacitated etc

There is a letter to reply on saying yes or no if there is any and if yes to add details why.

There are no major details just that she did not realise she might be able to claim a PPI refund on this. So do we say no to the circumstances and if so would this jeopardize the claim?

If you don't say no you'll be lying on the form. What happens if they ask for proof of this possible incapacitation?

This would only be asked if she was timebarred from complaint. Timebars can be overruled on exceptional circumstances. Incapacity is typically one of the things mentioned.

You dont claim a refund. You make a complaint with allegations of wrongdoing.

If it is timebarred then yes.
