No details do I have any recourse.

Options
Hi new to the forum and wondered if anyone could help.
I've spent a few hours trawling through all the helpful information on this site but I still don't think I can claim, can any one advise me.

I had PPI on my mortgage which I stopped around 05/06 which was through Legal & General and also a personal loan from Lloyds around 02/05 but here is the problem.
I have absolutely no details for either as I had a big paperwork clear out a couple of years ago.
I don't have policy details, policy paperwork or even bank statement to show money leaving my accounts.
I've read most institution destroy paperwork after 5-6 years so is there anything I can do.
I'll apologise now if this has already been asked.

  • When I worked on PPI redress we used to get people without any paperwork and as long as they could provide basic details we would investigate. Also, I reclaimed my PPI with almost no details going back several years without any problems. Hopefully your details would be enough to be able to launch a claim if you wished to do so.

Some of the cheques I used to send out where quite significant, the largest being a tad under £70,000!!

Was the L&G MPPI sold via a broker or bank? Most brokers were not regulated prior to Jan 05 so they dont need to consider pre 2005 sales. Plus, most MPPi complaints result in rejection. So, what are your complaint reasons?

As for loan PPI, you complain to Lloyds. You dont need records in most cases. Just enough info for them to identify you.

So how are you able to say it was mis sold if you don't have any details?
