It's a public holiday in N. Ireland today and there is a post strike tomorrow. Though over here tax credits which are due tomorrow (Fri) and which normally get paid into post office accounts will not be accessible until Saturday. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I haven't checked mine yet but we were due to be paid tomorrow and for some reason it has been paid into our bank today, very unusual,Do you think it's because it's Friday the 13th tomorrow?,or maybe because there is a postal strike tomorrow?.
So long as it's there I don't mind lol.Mfit member no 13 original balance £44000

Hi all,
Its nothing to do with the postal strike, the only affect that will have is that people on giros might recieve their payments late, but that would be the post office's fault, not tax credits.
The reason they are going in early is simply down to the Banks Automated Clearing System (BACS) having less than normal to process this week. All BACS payments are sent 3-4 days in advance to allow them to clear by the day they are supposed to (this includes wages and tax credits) and sometimes they clear more quickly, meaning the payments go through faster.0 -
