Meal plans WC 30th June

Well I did make it through last week on just £45 for 2 adults and 2 teenagers.
Just 11 more days to scrape through until I get paid again.
The problem is that I now have very little meat left or cheese left. Fresh fruit has ran out and I only have 2 leeks, red and white onions as fresh veg. Only enough potatoes for today as well :(

Breakfasts aren't a problem as I have cereal, porridge and muesli by the boat load left. I have dried fruit I can add to these as well.
Lunches I have soup and I will make a quiche with my last 4 eggs and a bit of spam. I am going to split a few sausages open and make sausage and stuffing rolls also.
Now to try and plan the evening meals from my stocks

Sunday- Beef dinner with frozen cauliflower and broccoli and yorkshire puddings.
Monday-LO beef from dinner made in to a pie with chips and peas.
Tuesday- Sausage Carbonara
Wednesday- Corned beef pie with potato, cheese and onion gratin
Thursday-Chicken vindaloo with turmeric rice
Friday-Jambalaya made with chicken
Saturday- HM pizza and garlic bread
Sunday- Toad in the hole with frozen broccoli and cauliflower
Monday- Spam fritter with chips and peas
Tuesday- What ever is left over omelette with garlic bread
Wednesday- I have 1 piece of fish and enough fish fingers for the kids, I'll have what ever is left over and we'll have them with HM spicy wedges and peas

Must buy shopping list-
Cheese £1.95
Sausages £1.59
Plain flour 45p
Potatoes £1.69
Salami 79p
Eggs £1.29
Juice 84p for 2
Milk £1.90 for 2
Mushrooms 69p

I need to prepare a lot of this today so I will go shopping this morning and bake this afternoon.
£36/£240
£5522
One step must start each journey
One word must start each prayer
One hope will raise our spirits
One touch can show you care

My plan for this week is as cheap as possible as it's not payday till next Monday! I'll need to buy some fruit and veg, but hoping to keep that under £5 for the week.

S - Turkey quesadillas with refried beans and rocket
    M - same!
T - (out at theatre) grilled chicken pittas with salad
    W - Spaghetti bolognese (freezer)
    T - same!
F - Grilled chicken in a white sauce with basmati rice and veg (to be decided, depending on offers) - This has to be changed as I'm out of chicken - new plan is turkey and veg chow mein
S - HM chorizo and mushroom pizzas

Breakfasts will be toast or crumpets from the freezer, lunches will be soup, falafel on chapatti, beans on toast or tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches.

Shopping list - frozen corn, loaf, mushrooms, carrots (or any cheap veg), rocket, baked beans.

Have a good week everyone! x

Mon - Sausages (FF), New Potatoes, Peas & Broad Beans
    Tues - Spaghetti Bolognaise (FF)
    Weds - Chicken Biryani
    Thurs - Tuna Pasta Salad
Fri - Chicken Stir Fry & Noodles
Sat - Herb Roasted Cod (FF), Wedges & Mushy Peas
Sun - Lamb Chops (FF), Roasties, Yorkshire Pud, Veg & Gravy

**Had meal planned the lamb chops for tonight, but OH is going out, so I will just have a baked potato with tuna mayo or cheese & beans (decisions, decisions). We were supposed to have the sausages this week, however, I had to work late, and OH opted for a takeaway, whilst I ate at work :(
I have a lot of things in, so hope my shopping bill will be smaller this week, need to buy chicken, fruit & veg, salad stuff, sandwich fillings, cereal, bread & milk.

Managed to save £20 on the shopping yesterday compared to last week but still need to get it lower!!
I didn't meal plan or write a list which won't help and I'm following Slimming World too
so the meal plan is as follows
    Mon- Ravioli (fresh)and salad
Tue- sweet potato wedges chicken and sweetcorn
Wed- cows cows and tin of bean salad (in vinegarette)
Thur- (late) Tin of Burritto with extra added veggies and rice
    Fri- Rice salad
    Sat- stir fry with noodles

Breakfasts will be cereal or fruit, lunches salad and cold meat or couscous/pasta/rice salad and there will be lost of fruit eaten :)

hoping to stick to this and not to do any top up shops this week (go in for 1 item come out with 12)
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

    Hi everyone,

Really trying to cut back on the spending as no job in September (I'll be a FT student for a year) and meal plan to help with this (and the diet!).

I seem to have a freezer jammed full of food which I've bought on offer so I'll be trying to slowly work my way through it over the next few weeks and liberate some space!

M - (fast day) Popcorn 'chicken', carrots, hash brown
T - Prawns (freezer) in szechuan sauce, veg and wholewheat noodles
W - (fast day) same as Monday
T - Chicken (freezer) bhuna with mini naan bread
F - Breaded chicken (freezer) with veg and onion rings
    S - same as Thursday
S - Meatballs in sauce with garlic bread (freezer)

I do the 5:2 diet 2 days a week. Fast day lunch is usually fruit, low cal jelly and sandwich meat and cheese triangle rollups.

Normal midweek lunch the other days is usually packed lunch, cheese and light mayo sandwich (I never get bored of these!) with some kind of fruit and crisps. OH buys meal deals at work.

At weekends we tend to have warm baguette for lunch and breakfast every day is usually toast for me and cereal for OH.

Hope everyone has a good week. :)

Trying to use as much as possible from freezers:

Sun 29 - roast chicken (from freezer) dinner (had DD & DGD for dinner so only enough LO for another meal instead of the usual 3 or 4 meals!)
    Mon 30 - sausages, mash & veg
Tue 1 - Spanish rice (LO chicken & chorizo from freezer)
    Wed 2 - Chilli (mince from freezer)/rice
Thur 3 - Liver, bacon, onions & mash (just need to buy liver)
Fri 4 - Burgers (from freezer)/onions in baps
Sat 5 - Chicken jambalya (from freezer)

Will definitely save a bit of money on meat this week.

Hi :) This is my first attempt at meal planning :o It's not as easy as it looks but I'm going shopping today and want to get our spending under control so going to write a list and stick to it in the main.

Right, we will be working on a Tuesday to Monday basis as I will be using CTC for the shopping so:

T: Fried chicken with oven chips / chicken breast salad
    W: Tacos
T: Sausage pasta bake / jacket potatoes with tuna mayonnaise
    F: Chip shop treat
    S: HM pizza
S: Roast dinner (fancy a leg of lamb this week)
    M: Beef curry

There are plenty of cereals in the house to choose from and we need lunches for six which is pretty much a sandwich, packet of crisps, snack chocolate bar and a piece of fruit during the week and sausages or bacon on the weekend :)

Hopefully this will help with the budget and give me an idea of what I am cooking without the panic to search for what we could have when nothing has been taken out of the freezer :o
