Sewing with Sequins

I'm a decorating a bra in sequins and although I think I've got the idea of how to sew them on, I'm not sure whether the rows should overlap the row above or should under-lap it (if that makes any sense!).....or doesn't it matter lol!

As long as it still fits at the end, it is entirely a matter of taste!

Me, I try to arrange sequins so that they cooperate with skin - for a bra I'd check arms are not likely to get "pinched" for example.

That said, I don't do much with sequins since I had three sons...!

It's my son's bra that I'm decorating .......I think I'd better explain lol!

He's taking part in the Great North Run for a breast cancer charity called Walk the Walk whose participants' signature (for want of a better phrase) is participating in a decorated bra....

The general advice the charity gives is not to decorate underneath the arms because of rubbing.

Thanks for that though - I guessed it was a case of not mattering too much so long as its consistant ....now where did I put my needle?????

I would pop to your nearest market and buy a half metre of sequins already sewed, that way you could examine them and tell how they are stitched together....

I did once a costume with sequins, oh and a ballet shoes as well. Did overlapping everything. It looks better but takes a lot of time to do.

What I did - i think it's called back stitch and sequins were overlapped by half in 1 row. But next row you don't overlap much.

    Hope it makes sense.
