Is it safe to wash the chicken?

Well, if you think about it are the eggs contaminated as well?
I like a runny yoke and once caught salmonella because of it.

I'm old enough to remember Edwina Currie as health minster losing her job after being honest about the chicken contamination problem.

Are we heading back to the bad old days?

Current advice is to not bother washing a chicken if it's already been prepared. (i.e. supermarket bought).

Just make sure it's cooked properly (juices run clear).

technically, they say that washing the chicken spreads the juices all over the kitchen via splashes and the like.

If you don't wash the chicken you may get a VIRUS - if you do wash the chicken you may get a VIRUS.
The Virus is the techy part LOL
