Noisy Radiator

The radiator in my bedroom is a little noisy in the morning when it comes on and because I'm a light sleeper to wakes me up. Its not very loud and under normal circumstances I wouldnt notice, but when the room is silent it is quite noticeable and should like someone exhaling on and off.

My question is, is there any way to stop it? Could I buy a new radiator or radiator valve to get rid of it?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
So...errrm...maybe a description of the noise? Top, middle, bottom of the radiator? Above or below floor level?

Sounds to me like its coming from the bottom of the rad where the pipe feeds in. Its kind of a rushing sound, I guess its the hot water coming in, or the boiler pump. It stays on for a few seconds and then goes off, and repeats constantly. It goes away completely if I turn the valve off.

Try opening the valve fully. It may be jammed or partially blocked

Also, it makes a intermittent sound as though its dripping onto the carpet, but its not dropping. Any ideas?

Do you have a thermostatic radiator valve?
Is this on the side that heats up first? (the flow side)

Try bleeding the radiator and taking of the thermostatic radiator head.
