Do all 18v drills have same power

Hi
Just wondering if all 18V drills have same power in terms of ability to drill holes. Battery decides how long will it last.
Or I have got it wrong and if so what is the value that I should look for to compare various 18v combi drills.

Aye different drills have different batteries, and things like the choice of motor and gearing also make a difference.
An 18v nicad Makita/Dewalt etc is likely to be better than an 18v nicad Homebase/Argos/B&Q own brand.
And a Lithium ion battery is better still, in terms of capacity, life span, and usability as they don't suffer from the "memory affect" you get with nicads, and don't self discharge anything like as much, so can be left charged and a couple of months later still have most of the charge.
Differences in charges also make a difference, as some cheap drills still don't use a smart charger, so if you leave the battery in it the charger can over charge the battery/cook it.
I've got/had a load of cheap 18v drills and the more expensive 14.4v Makita set I got a couple of years ago is the only one that was actually usable for drilling into masonry, the others would do small wood holes, or for some screws but didn't have the capacity or strength to do more.
When it dies I'll probably bite the bullet and get one of the lithium battery Makita's.0 -
Thanks. I appreciate every brand does different products and I also under lithium battery is better than ni cd. but I was purely looking at the power available.0
